Websites for bakeries and home bakers

Bakery websites that make custom cake orders simple

Every custom cake starts with the same questions: which date, what weight, which flavour, eggless or not. A bakery website answers most of them before the first message.

The problem

What gets in the way for a bakery

  • Every custom order is a long chat

Size, flavour, design, the message on top and the delivery date get settled one question at a time, often over a whole evening.

  • The same questions, again and again

Do you make eggless cakes? Do you deliver to my area? How many days' notice do you need? What's the price per kilo?

  • Your best work is buried in a feed

Hundreds of cake photos sit on Instagram in date order, with no way to browse birthday cakes separately from wedding cakes.

  • Festival weeks turn chaotic

Diwali, Christmas and Raksha Bandhan bring a rush of orders, and messages get missed in the rush.

What to include

What your website should include, and why

  • 01

    Cakes organised by occasion

Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and festivals each get a section, so customers browse the kind of cake they actually need.

  • 02

    A custom-cake request on WhatsApp

The order button opens WhatsApp with prompts for the date, weight, flavour, eggless or not and the message on the cake; design photos follow in the same chat.

  • 03

    Eggless and dietary labels

A clear label on every cake answers a question many customers ask before anything else.

  • 04

    Delivery areas and notice periods

Listing where you deliver and how much notice each cake needs heads off orders you can't fulfil.

  • 05

    Price guidance per kilo

A starting price per kilo for each type of cake, set by you, saves a round of messages before the real conversation starts.

  • 06

    Seasonal pages for festive hampers

Each festival's collection gets its own page, ready to share on WhatsApp and Instagram.

Most bakery websites are built as business websites; the other option is landing pages.

How a custom-cake order comes together

The website does the groundwork, so the conversation starts with the details instead of collecting them.

  1. 01

    Browse by occasion

The customer finds a style they like in the birthday or anniversary section.

  2. 02

    Send the request

The order button opens WhatsApp with prompts for date, weight, flavour and message.

  3. 03

    Share the design

Reference photos go into the same chat, so the whole order stays in one thread.

  4. 04

    Confirm the details

You check the date against your notice period and confirm the price.

Worth checking before you publish

  • Display your FSSAI registration or licence number if you take orders online, as currently required.
  • Use photos of cakes you've actually made, so customers know what to expect.

This is a summary to plan your website around, not legal advice. Please confirm the rules that currently apply to you; we build the website around what you confirm.

FAQ

Questions bakery owners ask

How do customers send cake design references?

In the same WhatsApp chat as their order. The order button starts the conversation with the key details, and photos follow in that thread.

Should my bakery website show prices?

A starting price per kilo for each type of cake works well: customers know roughly what to expect, and you confirm the final price for each custom design.

Can customers pay an advance for a cake on my website?

We don't build online payments. Customers pay the advance the way they already do, such as by UPI, after you confirm the order.

Can festive hampers have their own page?

Yes. A seasonal page for each festival collection can be planned into your website, ready to share on WhatsApp and Instagram.

Is a one-page website enough for a home baker?

Often, yes. One page with cakes by occasion, eggless options, delivery areas and an order button covers what most customers need, and it's what our landing pages are built for.
