A tall waterfall pouring into a green gorge in the rain
  • Meghalaya in the monsoon

Best time: June to September for waterfalls; October to April for clear walks

    • Wear shoes with grip: the root bridges are wet and steep
    • Shillong to Sohra takes about two hours by road
    • Keep a spare day for heavy rain
  • Ladakh, slowly

    Best time: June to September

    • Rest a full day in Leh before going higher
    • The roads to Nubra and Pangong cross high passes; carry warm layers even in July
    • Mobile signal is patchy beyond Leh
  • Rajasthan in winter

    Best time: October to March

    • Book desert camps early for December
    • Forts are calmer before 10 am
    • Pack layers: desert nights are cold

Before you book a trip

Can a package be changed to suit us?

Yes. Every package can be shortened, lengthened or changed; we send the new price before anything is booked.

Do the prices include flights?

No. We can book flights or trains for you at their actual fare, shown separately.

Is travel insurance included?

No, but we strongly suggest it, especially for Ladakh and the monsoon months.

Are the trips suitable for young children?

Kerala and Rajasthan suit all ages. For Ladakh, we suggest children over seven, because of the altitude.
